Côte-de-Beaupré is a garden of historic attractions, local products, and outdoor adventures to explore between Québec City and Charlevoix. Here are 5 ways to get (re)acquainted with it this summer.

  • 1

    Take the River Shuttle

Leave your car on the shore and take the river instead. Something to try this summer, on foot or by bike. The river shuttle is more than just a new way to get there, it’s your ticket to a dazzling view of Côte-de-Beaupré with a few departures daily.

There are so many options: a one-day roundtrip from Old Québec to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Shrine, Canyon Sainte-Anne—or even go for a hike at Mont-Sainte-Anne. You can also leave from Côte-de-Beaupré for a day in Québec City, or bring your bike and pedal back on the bike route.

  • 2

Explore Around the New Dock in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré

The fully revamped quay will be hopping all summer long—your gateway to the St. Lawrence for fishing, sea-kayaking, and more. Nearby, you can check out the Galerie Ni Vu Ni Cornu, take a break at Café Apollo or go for a picnic at Domaine Sainte-Anne with its vintage roller-skating track and fabulous summer programming. Don’t forget to visit the amazing shrine that inspires visitors from around the world.

  • 3

    Sample Local Flavours

The area’s plethora of farms, food producers, and market gardens are second to none. Where to go? The gourmet circuit map offers an itinerary of the best addresses. Visit one gourmet shop after another, stop by one of the craft breweries or go for a tasting at a vineyard.

Hit the Road on Canada’s Oldest Route

Discover the treasures of Côte-de-Beaupré with the New France Route. The route covers 4 centuries of history, running through a magical landscape of heritage sites, cultural attractions, and great places to eat.

If you’re doing it by bike, it’s the Marie-Hélène Prémont Véloroute bike route. From Montmorency Falls to Cap-Tourmente National Wildlife Reserve, this bike route features loads of spectacular scenery and not a lot of motor vehicles. And it’s pretty much flat all the way!

    Take a Hike

Côte-de-Beaupré is also your gateway to the mountains, with hikes of all levels of difficulty. Feeling adventurous? Backpack the Sentier des Caps (“peaks trail”) with its overnight shelter or tackle the daunting Mestachibo trail. The Mont-Sainte-Anne climb is more accessible, with fabulous options including the panoramic summit trail with the option of taking the gondola back down.
