At the controls of the human body is one magnificently efficient pilot…our brain! Every second of our lives, it processes hundreds of bits of information, to cross a street, read a novel, have a discussion, eat, breathe. One hundred billion neurons synapse at lighting speed to bring us the most awesome, but also the most painful experiences.

What happens when the grey matter turns to dark thoughts? Stress, anxiety, language and motor problems, autism and Alzheimer's are among many conditions that could be caused by a malfunction between the ears. The uncharted territory of the brain is a subject of fascination for a wide range of specialists, and little by little, the neurons that compose it are revealing some of their secrets!
