À la rencontre des grands chefs – Gastronomie autochtone is an event that offers local and international citizens the opportunity to discover and create links with the eleven Aboriginal nations of Quebec through the gastronomic world.

From August 25 to September 3, 2017, the public will be able to taste the culinary creations of eleven recognized chefs from the Quebec City area. All inspired by the 11 Aboriginal nations of Quebec, culinary creations will be on the menu at the following restaurants:

Stéphane Modat (Restaurant Le Champlain and Bistro Le Sam) and the Inuit Nation;
Frédéric Cyr (Culinary Director of Fairmont Le Château Frontenac) and the Cree Nation;
François Blais (Bistro B) and the Naskapi Nation;
Arnaud Marchand (Chez Boulay) and the Mohawk Nation;
Steve Bissonnette (La Sagamité) and the Abenakise Nation;
Ashton Leblond (at Ashton) and the Maliseet Nation;
Christophe Sécher (Le Conti) and the Atikamekw Nation;
Marie-Chantale Lepage (MNBAQ) and the Algonquin Nation;
Luc Ste-Croix (La Bûche, Bello) and the Huronne-Wendat Nation;
Nikolas Couture (Louise Taverne Wine Bar) and the Micmac Nation;
Dominic Jacques (Chez Rioux and Pettigrew) and the Innu Nation.

The gastronomic event will end on September 2 and 3, 2017 with a great tasting at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. For any of these dates, the public can purchase a $ 35 pass to access the 11 kiosks representing the participating restaurants.

An exhibition of Aboriginal arts will be held during the event. The first edition of "À la rencontre des grands chefs" marks the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation.
