When the sun comes out and the weather gets hot, what could be better than a nice dip? Beaches, swimming areas and spray parks—find an oasis to better enjoy the warmer climes!

Village Vacances Valcartier

This large waterpark is a must in Québec with over 35 water slides.

Take a trip down the two thematic rivers and spend as much time as you like in the massive wave pool. Then, whirl or zip down the water slides – more than 30 - comfortably seated on your inner tube or face-first on a foam mat. But don’t worry—there’s something for everyone, from timid to brazen! At Village Vacances Valcartier, the little ones can slide, splash around and generally get soaked with the water games at the Cockadoodle Farm, the Pirates’ Hideout and the Mirage, the park’s newest attraction. As a bonus, all pools are heated!

Baie de Beauport

A beach just 5 minutes from downtown? Yes, it’s possible!

Discover one of the “coolest” places in town on the shores of the St. Lawrence River: Baie de Beauport. Do a little sunbathing on this kilometre-long sandy beach or, if you are more the active type, play soccer, volleyball, or toss a Frisbee. Canoes, kayaks, rabaskas, centreboarders, catamarans, windsurf boards and paddle boards can also be rented on-site. Children will have a great time on their very own playground with watergames to keep things cool.

Station de la plage

Station de la Plage is a brand new section of Promenade Samuel-De Champlain, a park that runs along the St. Lawrence River between Old Québec and the bridges.

The magnificent site has everything you need to enjoy the beautiful summer days: fine sandy beach with chairs and parasols, infinite swimming pool, giving the impression of bathing in the river, mirror pool with fountains of water, outdoor showers, patios and restaurant service.

Old Port's Harbour Bath

The Port of Québec Oasis is a new free public harbour bath located at Bassin Louise in the Old Port.

There is a rest area as well as outdoor changing rooms, lockers, and showers. The harbour bath provides the equivalent of an Olympic-sized swimming pool with five 50 m swimming lanes and a 25 m² leisure swim area. Lifeguards are on site at all times during the opening hours to ensure the swimmers’ safety.

Spray Park Splash

Plan a spray park outing for some refreshing family vacation fun! On a hot summer day, the children spray parks at Aquarium du Québec, on Promenade Samuel-De Champlain, at Place des Canotiers in the Old Port, or at the City Hall will delight the whole family.

Public Outdoor Swimming Pools

Most public outdoor pools are open from mid-June. Located in the city center along the Saint-Charles River, the Marina Saint-Roch offers a swimming pool and a lively area appreciated by the whole family.

Lac Saint-Joseph Beach

This half kilometre long sandy beach on the shores of one of the most beautiful lake in the area is located less than hour from Old Québec. Swimming, nautical activities, and beach volleyball are on the program.

Summer Canyoneering

Not really swimming, but just as refreshing! You don’t need to be a great athlete to take part in this activity, which consists in rappelling down and along a waterfall. Give it a try with Canyoning-Québec. Do you dare get wet?

Sainte-Foy Outdoor Recreation Centre

A wonderful and easily accessible place to enjoy nature just steps away from the city! In addition to a swim beach, you can rent kayaks, pedal boats and canoes at Base de plein air de Sainte-Foy.
