Now amalgamated into Québec City, the former town of Sillery traces its roots back to the founding of a Jesuit mission in the 17th century. Some two hundred years later, the timber and lumber trade flourished in the area. Incorporated in 1985, the Sillery historical society (SHS) has over 200 members interested in local history and heritage. The SHS regularly speaks out on municipal projects that could have an impact on Sillery’s historical and cultural heritage.
