Île d’Orléans

Five kilometers downstream of Québec City, this island marks the border between the St. Lawrence River and estuary, and is presently the largest historical district of Québec. Tour the Île d’Orléans (island) and discover the architecture, history and heritage of its charming villages along the St. Lawrence River. One of them, Saint-Pierre-de-l'île-d'Orléans, is also the home of one of the most renowned French Canadian poets of the 20th century, Félix Leclerc, who lived on the island for thirty years. And, of course, enjoy farm-produce industry products (apple and strawberry picking, wine, maple products, fishing ponds) whose authenticity is the reflection of its people.
