Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding

Québec City offers outstanding snow conditions for your favorite gliding sports!

Hit the slopes at Mont-Sainte-Anne, one of eastern North America's premium winter resorts and the host of numerous international competitions. With its spectacular St. Lawrence River views, the mountain boasts runs for skiers and riders of all stripes, as well as an impressive snowpark.

Ski three mountains and stretch the fun until late into the evening at Stoneham Mountain Resort, the biggest night skiing resort in Canada! Check out the popular après-ski scene and the hot tubs just outside the bar!

Only one hour from Québec City, Le Massif de Charlevoix offers the highest vertical drop East of the Canadian Rockies. Incredible landscapes and impressive snowfalls will make your experience memorable.

And Le Relais Ski Resort is tops for family fun with its snowparks and illuminated runs.

Ice Hotel and Igloo Stays

Fun On Ice

Snow makes a lot of fun activities possible, and ice too! At Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, you will be amazed by the natural ice walls and the cloud of freezing mist. Have a direct contact with the ice when you try canyoning : rappel down frozen cascades near Mont-Sainte-Anne in a very safe environment. Skaters will enjoy Place D’Youville’s rink for its Old Québec romantic atmosphere, as well as Lac Beauport’s 3 km skating path. Many other skating rinks and natural surfaces are easily accessible in the city and region.

Dogsledding

Experience a blend of tradition, sport, and nordic life. Give dogsledding a go and feel the thrill of whizzing along snow-covered trails at Parc national de la Jacques-Cartier, Mont-Sainte-Anne, or Île d'Orléans!

Snowmobiling

Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Breathe in the sweet aroma of the evergreens and get back in touch with nature. The Québec City region has over 2,000 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. Find them all in the listing of the Greater Québec Area Cross-Country Skiing Association, including Station touristique Duchesnay, Camp Mercier and Mont-Sainte-Anne, renowned from coast to coast.

And there's plenty for snowshoeing fans to enjoy, too! After all, the great outdoors is only minutes from town!

If action is your thing, imagine a skating race along some of the city's steepest streets with a breakneck descent that would make even the most hardened daredevils think twice. Welcome to the Red Bull Crashed Ice extreme skating competition in fabulous Old Québec!

A pentathlon in the middle of winter is unusual to say the least, but we have one in Québec City!

In late February, come cheer over 1,000 athletes on the Plains of Abraham as they compete in five relay events: cycling, running, skiing, skating, and snowshoeing. It's sure to set pulses racing! Why not enter yourself?
