Slopestyle is the new Olympic discipline that will be presented during the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi and was presented for the first time ever during the Snowboard Jamboree in Quebec 2012. The discipline Slopestyle has been known more as a “freestyle” discipline and more marginal than the other disciplines and was presented for the first time during the World Cup in Calgary in 2010. It’s a judged competition, in the same way as a skateboard competition. So the performance of the athlete is extremely important rather than the speed.

This discipline is popular amongst the youth, and of course having a local athlete like Seb Toutant (gold medalist of X-Games and World Cup) makes the attention around this event even more powerful. The slopestyle is a unique course where the jumps and long rails are combined in a similar way to what we can find in a snowpark, but of course…just a little bit bigger….The athletes will be judges on the originality and quality of each performance, on each jump and each rail.

The slopestyle – presented by the restaurants Subway is a first ever for eastern Canada.

Not only will the competition be fierce, but the mountain will be crowded with huge crowds and media.
