Information about the event
In Mars 2002, Break syndical is the band’s top album. Cowboys Fringants madness and fans sporting green t-shirts sweep across the entire province. In fall 2005, the band receives a Félix Award for Song of the Year, with Les Étoiles Filantes and continues touring across Québec and in Europe.
L’Expédition and Sur un air de déjà vu come out at the same time. The main album - L’Expédition - is more controlled, nuanced and poetic compared to the band’s earlier beat. L’Expédition becomes the trademark of its Green Tour, since the band’s carbon footprint and that of its concert-goers are cancelled by their planting 35,000 trees.
L’Expédition tour wraps up in September 2011, after performing over 200 concerts in French-speaking Canada. In the meantime, the Cowboys put the finishing touches on their 8th album, Que du vent.
Listeners across the generations have joined fans from their early days. Until now, les Cowboys Fringants have sold over 800,000 albums and their songs have been - and remain - the backdrop and touch of colour in the lives of tens of thousands of people.
