Benefit gala: L'univers musical de Denys Arcand

Renowned Quebec filmmaker Denys Arcand hosts this retrospective of his film music for Les Violons du Roy’s 30th season benefit gala. The orchestra will bring Arcand’s musical world to life under the baton of resident conductor Mathieu Lussier, while Arcand will discuss musical decisions he has made in his career and music’s special place in his films.

Actor, director, screenwriter, and producer Denys Arcand is an institution in Quebec cinema. He has received throughout his career for feature films including The Decline of the American Empire and Jesus of Montreal, including the 2004 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for The Barbarian Invasions.
