Le Capitole is proud to announce the return of The Man In Black—Tribute to Johnny Cash for a 5th and ultimate summer in 2013, year that marks the 10th anniversary of this American popular music legend’s death.

Johnny Cash’s story and music have touched millions of people throughout the world and have been marked by his quest of truth, inner peace, love and redemption. He lived a rebel life that continues to fascinate an entire generation of brand new fans all around the globe. He knew how to create his very own sound and his musical legacy still inspires numbers of young rock and country music artists.

The Man in Black pays a tribute to the musical genius of Johnny Cash by presenting his entire work in a frozen moment of his existence, like some kind of a “freeze frame”. Johnny Cash is represented at his height by Shawn Barker, a larger than life performer who portrays the character with a breathtaking authenticity.

From his early recordings in 1955 (“Hey Porter”, “Cry, Cry, Cry”) to “Hurt” considered as his very last offering in 2002, through his duets with his wife and muse June Carter (“Jackson”, “Darlin’ Companion”), all his greatest hits are there –including his most famous song “Ring of Fire”– all interpreted as the young Johnny Cash would have performed them.
