The Old Limoilou neighborhood continues to grow in popularity. In summer, head for the bike path and explore the banks of Rivière Saint-Charles. Stroll along the neighborhood's avenues and discover 19th century homes and other charming buildings, or visit scenic attractions like Cartier-Brébeuf National Historic Site of Canada. The park at Pointe-aux-Lièvres is also a great place to go skating in winter.
Inspired by the system in place in New York City, the sector's streets and avenues are numbered. Many of them are well worth a closer look:
- 1re Avenue is Limoilou's oldest thoroughfare (1665)
- 2e Avenue is home to a lovely collection of typical local homes with their red bricks and spiral staircases
- 3e Avenue is a bustling shopping street with everything from exclusive boutiques to stores selling local specialties.
