Classified as an historic monument, the family residence of Alphonse Desjardins and his wife, Dorimène Desjardins, has been restored to its 1906 decor, reminiscent of its origins as head office of the first Caisse populaire, founded by Alphonse Desjardins. Located next door, The Legacy of a Couple exhibit displays some of the challenges that the Desjardins couple overcame in creating the first credit and savings unions on the continent.
