at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards
His book Papilles pour tous! in collaboration with François Chartier
is awarded the "Best food and wine pairing book" in the world
(Québec) March 1, 2013 – Last February 23, at the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Awards gala held in Paris, the collection of four cookbooks Papilles pour tous! by Chef Stéphane Modat and his collaborator François Chartier, took top honors by receiving the coveted "Best food and wine pairing book" in the world.
Collaboration between Stéphane and François Chartier Modat began in 2009, when they formed the duo Mc2 and co-sign the bestselling books Les Recettes de Papilles et Molécules as well as the collection Papilles pour tous! (fall, winter, spring and summer). Then, alongside François Chartier, Stéphane Modat was the Chef of the television series Papilles, which aired in 2012 on Télé-Québec.
Recently, Stéphane Modat joined the kitchen brigade of the Château Frontenac as Restaurant Chef. Modat currently acts as Restaurant Chef of the existing Le Champlain restaurant, bringing until its temporary closure for renovations in June 2013. During this time, he will work at the elaboration and development of the new restaurant concepts and take the reins as Restaurant Chef for the reopening scheduled for late 2013.
