The official caterer at the Maison du Québec in Vancouver victim of its own success!
February 26, 2010
A few days before the end of the Vancouver Winter Games, the official caterer at the Maison du Québec, George V, sees its dishes of local products from various regions across the province of Quebec selling like hot cakes. The banquet and catering services provider to the Hôtel Château Laurier Québec hits it big with the visitors! "We had to order and have delivered rush many additional products from Quebec to satisfy the ever increasing demand, explains Guy Michaud, director of George V. Our Quebec cheese, "tourtières", ham croissants, maple recipes, everything is in such an astronomical demand" he adds.
Particularly everyone’s favorite, the "poutine" of Chef Heinrich Meesen : "our "poutine" is one of the favorite dishes here, at the Maison du Québec. Every single person adores it!" explains Chef Meesen. Let’s note as well that the maple cotton candy and the Archibald Micro-Brewery beer are also much appreciated. As a matter of fact, when buying a six-pack, a magnificent stay at the Hôtel Château Laurier Québec by olympic day is awarded, for a total of 17 winners. In short, this magical experience allows thousands of people from everywhere in the world to discover or rediscover typical meals from Quebec: "some visitors have already told us that they will very soon come and enjoy these little food pleasures directly in Quebec! We can be proud of participating to the success of the food of our province. This showcase is simply incredible for our producers" concludes Chef Heinrich Meesen.
