Bernard Labadie conducts Les Violons du Roy, a chamber orchestra consisting of some 15 professional musicians that he founded in 1984. Based in Palais Montcalm, this chamber orchestra is a mainstay of Québec City's cultural scene and is renowned for its passion, energy and verve. Les Violons du Roy performs with the Chapelle de Québec choir, which was also founded by Bernard Labadie. This orchestra has earned accolades for its interpretation of the classical Baroque repertoire and has recorded 22 CDs under the Dorian, Atma and Virgin labels.
