The largest concentration of cross-country skiers and ski centres in Canada is located around Québec City, on both the North and South shores. The ski season starts in November and ends in April. The RSSFRQ promotes cross-country skiing, encourages the sharing of expertise among member centres and seeks to improve safety standards. The RSSFRQ has a directory of the facilities and services available (including snowshoeing and hiking trails) accessible within a 150 km (93 miles) radius of Québec City, including 10 of them within 20 km (12.4 miles).
