The possibilities for fun and adventure are endless. It offers nearly 400 km of
trails and paths including several multipurpose sections.
Portneuf, Jacques-Cartier, Beaupré Coast and Île d'Orléans are famous for bike
touring, mountain biking and bike paths. Within the splendour of these regions,
you will discover the rustic countryside, turbulent rivers, steep mountains and
rolling hills, as well as the majestic and omnipresent St. Lawrence River.

Trails in the Region

Corridor des Cheminots
— 22 km
A multipurpose trail on a former railway line for cyclists,
pedestrians, wheelchair users and inline skaters. The path, which is
part of the Route Verte and the Trans Canada Trail, crosses Québec
City’s boroughs of Limoilou, Les Rivières, La Haute-Saint-Charles
and Laurentien towards Shannon, and boasts various service points
and beautiful landscapes. it joins up with Corridor du Littoral and
Domaine Maizerets.

Corridor des Beauportois
— 4,6 km
A multipurpose trail linking Camping municipal to the commercial
area of Clémenceau street. Heading south, users can reach Corridor
du Littoral via the bike path along the Beauport river.

Corridor du Littoral
— 50 km
A trail for cyclists and, in some sections, pedestrians, inline
skaters and people with reduced mobility. It runs along the St.
Lawrence River, from Parc de la Chute-Montmorency to
Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures.

Corridor de la
Rivière-Saint-Charles — 8 km
A multipurpose loop trail that runs along the
two banks of Saint-Charles river, starting east at the Samson bridge
and heading west to Marie-de-L’Incarnation bridge on the north side
(3.7 km) and Scott on the south side (4.3 km). |

Jacques-Cartier Trail—Portneuf
— 68 km A
rock dust path linking Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier to
Rivière-à-Pierre, the site of an old railway track. This bike path is
the direct extension of the Corridor des Cheminots bike path that leads
to downtown Québec City. The maximum incline on this path is 3%. An
official bike path map is available.
Circuit Dansereau / La Liseuse (Portneuf / Jacques-Cartier) — 16 km
Ride along th outskirts of town and meander through the rocks along
Jacques-Cartier River while taking in the scenery that inspired novelist
Anne-Hébert, who was raised in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier.
Chemin du Roy (Route Verte) — 56 km
This linear path runs along the St. Lawrence River. A ride along Chemin
du Roy is to experience nature in all its splendour, uncover its rich
heritage and make new discoveries! |

There are paved shoulders, measuring a minimum of
.61 metres wide, on nearly all of Route 368 circling the island. In the heart of
the villages the road is smaller, so there is no space for shoulders. However,
signage has been installed to facilitate proper sharing of the road.

Félix-Leclerc Route —
67 km
Discover why Félix Leclerc, Québec singer and poet, loved this island so
much! The route covers all of Île d’Orléans. However, it is best to tour
the island on weekdays because the amount of traffic poses a risk to
cyclists during weekends and rush hour.
Bell-Tower Route — 38.9 km
This path begins at Route des Prêtres in Saint-Pierre and goes all the
way to Saint-Laurent. It then winds through Route du Mitan in Saint-Jean
to Sainte-Famille and makes its way back to Saint-Pierre. See historic
places, churches, the processional chapel, marina and beach… all to the
rhythm of the tides of the majestic St. Lawrence River. |

Marie-Hélène-Prémont
Bike Path —
55 km Country fun in the heart of the first villages in
French North America, on one of the oldest roads in Québec: the New
France Route. Discover 7 rural municipalities and close to 40 tourist
attractions, as well as landscapes, history and heritage you will marvel
at. The path connects to 135 km of mountain biking trails at Mont
Sainte-Anne.

Tour of Cap-Tourmente (Beaupré Coast) — 10 km
Discover the tranquil beauty of Saint-Joachim and the breathtaking
landscapes of Cap Tourmente, which looks out over the St. Lawrence
River. In the spring and fall, watch thousands of snow geese migrate. |

The Route Verte bike path
network stretches over more than 4,000 km. This extensive path links 16
regions and crosses more than 320 municipalities from one end of our vast
province to the other.
Criss-crossing the Greater Québec Area:
— Follow the historic King’s Way (Route 138) for 63 km as it crosses Portneuf
and continues towards Québec City. This asphalt path runs along the river, and
travels through many historical municipalities. On your way, you can admire the
harmonious group of Deschambault buildings, the Grondine flats and see the
village of Cap-Santé stretching across the cliff along the King’s Way.
— The Corridor du Littoral bike path (26 km) gives you the opportunity to ride
right alongside the St. Lawrence River towards Beauport and Montmorency Falls
Park. The west end of Corridor du Littoral path links Cap-Rouge to
Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures and meets up with the Route Verte on Route 138
(King’s Way).
— The Corridor des Cheminots is an urban bike path that stretches along 22 km,
from downtown Québec City to Val-Bélair, offering a great way to explore the
gardens and green spaces in the provincial capital. This path leads directly
to the Jacques-Cartier/Portneuf bike path and extends to Shannon and
Rivière-à-Pierre.
— From Shannon, lovers of large spaces are invited to ride to Rivière-à-Pierre
and follow the Jacques-Cartier/Portneuf path for an escape to the great outdoors.
