Mont-Sainte-Anne A short 40 km drive (25 miles) east of Québec City, Station Mont-Sainte-Anne is the largest downhill ski resort in Québec with its 56 trails, 15 for night skiing. It is equipped with very comfortable lifts servicing three sides of the mountain, a day care center for children, and top quality snowmaking and grooming equipment. Gradient : 625 metres (2050 feet). Chair lifts, T-bars and gondolas wisk you up to the top of the mountain (800 meters / 2625 feet) where you will enjoy a panoramic view over the St. Lawrence River valley landscape. Boutique, ski school, equipment rentals, restaurant and day care services. Group rates. Other on-site activities : snowshoeing, skating, dog sledding, mountain gliding. Reservotel offers a lodging and package booking service for Mont-Sainte-Anne and the Québec area.

Station touristique Stoneham Only 20 minutes north of Québec City, Stoneham offers some of the best skiing conditions in Eastearn Canada and has modern and comfortable installations, all in a relaxed, family atmosphere. Located in magnificent surroundings, Station touristique Stoneham is a four-season resort offering downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboard (snowpark available),inner tubes, skating and snowshoeing. The site of the 1993 Downhill Skiing World Cup, Stoneham is ranked among the major ski resorts east of the Canadian Rockies with its 27 runs (16 runs at night). Vertical drop 1378 foot / 420-meter, longest run : 10,502 feet / 3,201 meters. Artificial snow. Chair lifts and other lifts, 14,200 skier per hour capacity. Sports school, snowpark for snowboards, inner tubes, day care, equipment rentals, repair shop, ski boutique, souvenir boutique. At the base of the mountain, you will find fast food outlets, fine cuisine, a bar and an English pub. Accommodations at the base of the mountain and along the ski trails in hotels or condominiums. Ski packages and group rates. One telephone number for all services, including reservations.

Le Relais Only 15 minutes north of Québec City, at Lac-Beauport, the slopes of Le Relais get the best of daytime sun which is greatly appreciated by the tried and true skiers who enjoy its lively ambience. Le Relais is the only centre in the area where all the trails are lit for nighttime skiing. 25 runs day and night, 735 foot / 224-meter vertical drop, longest run: 6742 feet / 2055 meters.

Cross-country Skiing

Over 2000 km (1200 miles) to Discover Most cross-country ski resorts (32) are located around Québec City, which is home to the largest concentration of cross-country skiers in Québec and all of Canada. These centers, offering over 200 trails of different levels, totalling over 2000 km (1200 miles), are devoted to providing natural outdoor excitement to cross-country enthusiasts Just imagine! That's the equivalent of a trail linking Québec City to Chicago! The season starts in December until April. Ask for the directory of the facilities and services available (including snowshoeing) within a 60 miles / 100 km radius of Québec City, including 10 of them in a 20 km (12 miles) radius. All trails are marked and groomed, and there is ample choice for every taste and budget.

Picturesque decor, enchanting sites, trails of all different lengths, rustic chalets, comforting stopovers, incredible views, picnics in the woods, red cheeks and shining eyes are all part of it. Each excursion can become an opportunity for new discoveries, within the city on the Battlefields Park or in one of the many centres outside the city.

As you see, the Québec City area is a paradise for skiers and snowboarders. There is something for every desire and level. The atmosphere, activities and many services available are designed for a wide variety of visitors. When you add the legendary hospitality of people in Québec, it is easy to understand why the area is so popular with skiers. And perhaps why Mother Nature has blessed the Québec City area with such abundant snow!

Les Sentiers du Moulin Lac-Beauport Phone : (418) 849-9652 www.quebecweb.com/sentiers A magnificent outdoor sports centre only minutes away from Québec City, in the heart of the Laurentian forest. During winter, our exceptionally favourable snow conditions turn this site into a heaven for cross-country, snowshoe, igloo. 150 km of groomed trails with 4 heated refuges. The main lodge provides cafeteria service, bar and terrace facilities, boutique, ski shop and waxing room. 23 trails for a total of 150 km (93 miles)

Camp Mercier Réserve faunique des Laurentides Phone : (418) 849-9652 www.sepaq.com Located in the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve 50 km from Québec City, Camp Mercier offers skiers of all skill levels a wide variety of trails, the best snow conditions (7 metres of almost 23 feet in peak season), an exceptionally long season, and breathtaking scenic beauty. A network of 192 km (120 miles) of groomed and patrolled trails for shorter outings, including 28 km for free style skiers, and two long circuits with shelters along the trails provide an ideal setting for cross-country ski enthusiasts. Apart from shelters, low-cost accommodation is also available in the Camp Mercier dormitory. Magnificent cabins located near the camp may also be rented. Ski de fond Charlesbourg Charlesbourg Phone : (418) 849-9054 15 cross-country ski trails totalling 120 km (72 miles). In addition, hard-packed hiking trails, and snowshoeing trails. Main chalet, ski rentals, waxing room, restaurant, skiing lessons, 2 heated shelters along the trails in winter for skiers, snowshoe lovers and hikers. Night outings with a guide for skiing and hiking Friday nights at 7:30 p.m.

Mont-Sainte-Anne Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges Phone : (418) 827-4561, 1 800 463-1568 www.mont-sainte-anne.com The cross-country ski centre is located 8 kilometres (5 miles) east of the downhill ski slopes. Yours to discover, 21 beginner-to-expert trails meandering through impressive Laurentian forest landscape, totalling 223 kilometres (126 miles), 125 kilometres (75 miles) of which are groomed for ski-skating). On-site, centrally located inn lodging available. Seven heated shelters. Restaurant services, equipment rentals, waxing room and day care services. Several national and international championship competitions are held here, because of our remarkable network of expert-calibre trails and world-renowned competition centre.
