du Maurier Québec
City Summer Festival
A rendez-vous with
street and stage performers Year after year in the first two weeks of
July, the du Maurier Québec City Summer Festival has put on the largest
street and stage French-language performance festival in North America.
The streets and public parks of Old Québec are filled with music,
acrobats, mimes and singers. According to the American Bus Association,
it is "one of the biggest events held on the continent every
year." Over 600 performers from as many as 25 different countries
take part in the Summer Festival, all filling the city with the sound of
laughter and music.
Québec City hosts
performers on several outdoor and indoor stages. The choice is yours.
The outdoor stages set up in the city's larger public venues and parks
introduce performers from many countries in front of enthusiastic
crowds. Indoors, there are many shows to please audiences that are on
the lookout for unusual and exciting new talent.
From show to show,
from one stage to another and on almost every street corner, you can
travel from Africa to South America, Europe to North America, reggae to
jazz, classical to popular, folk to rock, from a magician to a street
performer, or a comic to an acrobat.
The du Maurier
Québec City Summer Festival puts on over 250 performances over ten
summer days of fun and festivity in a city dancing to rhythms from far
and near. The festival draws over a million visitors every year.
The Québec City
Summer Festival sets the tone for the season as no other event could,
with its variety of performances, music and different cultures. It is a
chance to discover artists from around the world in a fun atmosphere the
whole family will appreciate.
