For Business And Pleasure...
The Ideal Destination For Your Convention

As the cradle of French civilization in North America, Québec City is known for its charm, liveliness, and the warm welcome its residents extend to visitors. Since the Québec City Area is already popular with tourists, imagine the impact it will have on conventioneers. Conventions bring people together to work, of course, but the activities associated with the convention can also be a major part of its success.

The people at the Greater Québec Area Tourism and Convention Bureau are confident that Québec City is the ideal destination for a meeting, convention or an incentive package. It has all the advantages of a large city along with many tourist attractions and sightseeing tours. But Québec City also offers a wide range of activities only a few minutes from downtown for anyone who loves nature. Hikers, hunters, anglers, golfers or skiers will find ideal conditions to practice their sport. And that's not all. We offer resorts, vacation getaways and magnificent sites like the Jacques-Cartier Valley, where, accompanied by a guide, you can go white-water rafting, explore the trails, or even try calling wolves.

Unique in North America Québec City is the only fortified city north of Mexico, and that makes it unique. This special character was recognized in 1985, when UNESCO placed the historic district of Québec City on its prestigious World Heritage list, taking note of the exceptional value of the site. Old Québec City has thus become one of the only two urban centres in North America to earn this international acclaim.

Québec City has made a remarkable effort to preserve its ties to history, but it has not turned into a museum city. Quite the opposite! A stroll through Old Québec can turn into a treasure hunt. Narrow streets, old stone homes, historic sites, century-old trees, museums, small friendly cafés, and specialty boutiques all give the city a European feel that is simply unique in North America.

A Safe City You'll Enjoy Exploring This is certainly one of Québec City's main advantages. Several major hotels are conveniently located around the Convention Centre, right downtown, and make it easy to explore nearby attractions. An evening stroll through the historic part of town, in a city known for its safe streets, will be appreciated by all the participants in your convention. So no matter what program you have planned for your convention, you can be sure of one thing, you will be pleased with the warm welcome you will receive. Québec City attracts four million visitors every year. They appreciate the special charm and the joie de vivre of its inhabitants. People in and around Québec City are proud to share their city and its surroundings with visitors.
