A network of inline bike paths originates in the Old Port sector and extends throughout the Québec City Area. Hop on your road, hybrid, or mountain bike and explore the city, its suburbs, and its green belt!

Main Cycling Routes from Downtown

These three routes allow you to discover the city and its suburbs from the city center. Download the city cycling map here.

Corridor de la Rivière-Saint-Charles – 9 km (5.5 mi.)

Suggested starting point: Espace Quatre Cents (Old Port)

Corridor des Cheminots – 22 km (13.5 mi.)

Suggested starting point: Domaine Maizerets

Features:

  • Crosses the residential neighbourhoods in Québec City’s northern suburb.
  • Main attractions along the route: Domaine Maizerets and Wendake.

Corridor du Littoral et Parcours des Anses – 28 km (17.4 mi.)

A safe and flat route along the two shores of the St. Lawrence River. Cross the Québec Bridge towards Lévis to reach one of the most beautiful views of Québec City and the Château Frontenac from the other shore. Suggested return by the Québec-Lévis ferry.

A journey through the Portneuf region which is known for its legendary Chemin du Roy and for its charming villages lined with rich farmland and rivers. Several segments offering stunning views along the St. Lawrence River.

Between river and mountain – 119,5 km (74.3 mi.)

This circuit follows different bike paths and shared roads for the more experienced cyclists. The high level of elevation is rewarded by breathtaking natural scenery. Enjoy a stop on the way in Wendake to discover the Huron-Wendat culture.

Vélopiste Jacques-Cartier / Portneuf – 68 km (42.3 mi.)

A stone dust route on the former train tracks linking Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier to Rivière-à-Pierre and offering landscapes of lakes, rivers and mountains along the way.

A ride through the heart of French America’s first villages via one of the oldest roads in Québec, the Route de la Nouvelle-France. Leave the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency and cross the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Shrine by joining Cap-Tourmente.

Board the river shuttle between the Old Port of Québec and the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré dock wito have even more time to explore the many attractions of the area on your bicycle.

Bike Rental

It is possible to rent bicycles and accessories of all kinds at Cyclo ServicesEcho Sports Tours and Tuque & bicycle expériences. On Île d'Orléans, Québec Aventure Tours will allow you to rent a bicycle or an electric bicycle to explore the island at your own pace.

For short trips in the city, it's also possible to use the bike-sharing service called àVélo. The hundreds of electric-assist bicycles are distributed across numerous stations in Old Québec and the central neighbourhoods (helmet use is mandatory).
