It feels like Europe, but you’re so close to home!

Imagine a EuroStyle holiday destination right on your doorstep! Beautiful Québec City is close to home, yet offers all the charm of Europe—and a winter blanket of white to rival the best of the Alps! You’ll love the fine food, joie de vivre, and warm Canadian hospitality.

Here, past and present blend seamlessly in Old Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage Treasure. With its wealth of history and artistic heritage, Québec City is one of Canada’s most culturally vibrant cities. Dance, theatre, the visual arts, opera, the symphony orchestra, world class museums, artists and performers from Québec and around the world—it’s all right here! Wander from street to street and take in an art gallery or history museum, or visit one of the city’s many landmarks. A world of surprise awaits!
Tucked between Cap Diamand and the St. Lawrence River are the lively historic districts of Place-Royale and Petit Champlain. They grew up around the first houses erected in 1608 and are the cradle of French civilization in North America. Magnificently preserved and restored architecture lines their narrow pedestrian streets where artists’ workshops, picturesque sights, original boutiques, restaurants, and cafés abound. The soul of Place Royale is charming Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church, which commemorates the French victories over the British.

Historically important in the development of Canada as well as North America, Québec City is home to two National Historic Sites of Canada: the Fortifications of Québec and Artillery Park. And to top it all off, there's Battlefields Park, one of the most prestigious city parks in the world and the site of two famous battles in 1759 and 1760.

From a more recent history, you won’t want to miss three of the region’s landmarks: the star-shaped Citadelle (the eastern flank of Québec’s fortifications), Hôtel du Parlement (the Parliament Building, where the National Assembly and its 125 elected members for the province of Québec meet), and the world-famous Château Frontenac, erected in 1893 and photographed by millions.
An interesting way to discover the richness of Québec City’s heritage is through the colorful murals evoking four centuries of fascinating history in the storied Lower Town. Of course, a wealth of museums are waiting to be discovered, and nearby towns and villages have plenty to offer, too. Historic churches and stately heritage homes are just some of the surprises you may find around the next bend in the road. The Wendake community (home of the only Huron-Wendat Nation in Canada), Côte-de-Beaupré, Île d'Orléans, as well as the villages of Cap-Santé, Neuville, and Deschambault in Portneuf are just a few places you might want to visit.
